Now, of course I had APUSH at the end of the day. So it left me plenty of time to think about and become exhausted over the dread that was building up inside of me for just receiving back a test. I couldn’t focus in any of my classes, and didn’t think about anything other than “I can’t believe I failed.” The instant I walked into the classroom my knees almost buckled to the point where I collapsed. All I could do is sit in the corner with my hands on my head as Ms. Bradley said “Some of you did amazing on this essay!
Learn to fail.” By Angel B. Perez, the author explains how a student gained his attention through the honesty the student provided when asked what he expects to learn or experience in college. The student answered with, “I look forward to the possibility of failure.” Failure

Rhetorical appeals are all around us. In all kinds of readings, from educational readings to general entertainment. If there is something an author wants you to think/agree with, the author includes Rhetorical appeals. Throughout the article Social Media and Adolescent Health, written by Maggie R. Guinta and Rita M. John, there are a great multitude of Rhetorical appeals. Specifically there are a great amount of appeals to Pathos and Logos.
Looking back at my past papers, I decided to do revise my Textual Rhetorical Analysis. I came to this decision when I noticed how weak my introductory paragraph was. I then noticed that there were other areas that I could improve on within my Textual Rhetorical Analysis. The first thing I changed was my title. Although my title gave a nice introduction to what my essay was going to be about, I thought it needed to be more intriguing.
Then, tragedy struck the team; three of our fastest girls were injured and out for the season. Now, I wasn’t happy about them being sidelined, but it did finally give me a chance to recover my placement from the beginning of sophomore year. I wanted to help lead the team to state, and with what my coach had previously said, it didn’t appear to be too far out of my reach. However, “too far” should have been followed by an asterisk, as my season soon spiraled out of my
Rhetorical Analysis of “Mind Over Mass Media” Many people believe that new forms of electronic media such as search engines, which offer easy access to incredible amounts of information are harmful to people’s intelligence because they allow us to understand only the main idea of the information provided instead of allowing us to gain an in depth understanding of the topic. Steven Pinker, a professor at Harvard University argues in his essay “Mind Over Mass Media” that these new forms of electronic media are actually beneficial to people's intelligence and the accusations made against it are unwarranted. He is successful in doing this because he brings up counterarguments and disproves them, he offers advice in practicing self control when
While creating my rhetorical analysis paper I used all of my typical writing processes. I began this assignment by selecting a commercial that I thought would be the most appealing in the superbowl. After selecting my commercial I did some research at the library using EBSCOhost. I then created an outline on what my paper would be about and pieced all of its parts together. In the future I will try to recieve help earlier on because at first I struggled to understand what the purpose of the paper was.
A difficult or challenging situation that I have faced is trying to become a starter on the football team. Every year I start the season as second string, next to sub in. However, I have always worked hard and gave all my effort every day at practice. Many days I have come home so exhausted I have no desire to eat, but if I did not then I also would not grow stronger. Now my senior year all my hard work has payed off as I am a starter on the defense and special teams.
Today technology is an integral part of lives, the digitized age has incorporated itself into nearly every aspect of our culture. This even includes the methods by which we persuade defined specifically as rhetoric. I will discuss three examples of digital rhetoric, each example will be representative of a distinct form of digital media. I will then explain the manner in which the respective examples use the appeals of persuasion. I will follow up by describing how the various appeals are presented to persuade the target audience.

that convincing communication must be appropriate to the particular situation being addressed. The aim of this approach is that what the writer tries to communicate to his hearers. 4.4. Narrative Criticism: It is a method of interpreting biblical narratives with the help of literary theory.
Growing up, I spent most of my time playing sports and trying to stay active as much as possible. As I got older, I became more serious with field hockey, and I was determined to make the varsity team my junior year of high school. All summer I spent working on my stick skills on the field, and my endurance in the gym in order to do everything I could to make the varsity squad. When tryouts started in the end of August, I hadn’t performed the way I wanted to, and girls I thought had no chance of making the team, played so well over the three days. However, I was hopeful I still had a shot on the varsity roster.
One of my experiences with failure took place when I was in fourth grade. There were many problems accumulated and I was a child who needed people to see if I did my homework or study for the test, because I couldn’t concentrate and was distracted by anything in the room. My brother also had problems that year, he needed more attention because he didn’t get along with his math teacher and my Mom was always after him with the homework; otherwise he would have failed Math at the end of the year. In fourth grade, the teacher that was assigned to us was one of the strict teachers that were in that school
