It shows how impactful these trips can be to one’s future. Therefore, mission trips are eye opening opportunities that students and adults can take part in. Murray (2019) took a group of students to the Dominican Republic and says this,“Nightly debrief sessions for the teams are often marked by crying, hugging, and contemplative silences as the group tried to reconcile their own lives with the lives of their new friends in the Dominican Republic, realizing just how lucky they are.” (para. 21) This displays how people who could have never met come together to serve a common goal which is to help others and spread the light of Christ. Consequently, participants often do not realize how even though they come to serve people in need they are the ones benefiting the most from this experience of building friendships and forming memories that will last a lifetime. Reflecting on the importance of relationships.”( para.13) This points out how one is encouraged to come out of their comfort zone on these trips and establish new relationships and show God's love to others who have not had the chance to encounter it. For example, it shows the true importance of creating good solid friendships in your life, people who inspire you to be more Christ centered and godly. In addition, knowing the fact that Jesus is with us at all times, guiding us through on how to be a Christ-like influence to others. Mark 16:15 states, "And he said to them, Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation”(ESV.). This verse shows Jesus’s direct words that ask the Christian community to go out in the world and be a light to everyone.
