Neerja Sonawane Academic Goals Essay During my school days, I went to a scouts and guides camp where they took us for a visit to a school for the disabled, named “Aasha” (Hope). I was left bewildered on seeing the innocent souls who didn 't have sight but had a vision. I saw sore eyes full of dreams. This gave me sleepless nights. The strong urge to make a difference in their life drew me towards science and technology for the mystical abilities it gave us. Since childhood, I was fascinated by the human eye. Understanding how the human brain interprets the optical signals would serve as a major breakthrough in "eye-brain-computer interfacing". One must be eager to learn in order to grow. I feel a sense of satisfaction when I learn new things- things that fascinate me. I love to unfold the hidden mysteries of the world of science and technology. I have always been astonished by its tremendous potential. I think that pursuing a professional degree collaborating signal processing and electronics will not only advance my career but will bring me closer to my long-term goal of making a difference. Through my research, I learned that UT Arlington is one of the fastest-growing public research universities in the nation. The Electrical Department of the university offers a plethora of knowledge and research opportunities. It has been the abode to a number of international students, with the on-campus facilities adding further to the advantages of studying at an institution with a world-class standard. I would like to continue the legacy of contributing to the world. I am confident that I can justify the opportunity
