Throughout history we notice the horrible tragedies that end in mass killings. In Hotel Rwanda and Night dehumanization is shown through people's acts of racism. In the book Night by Elie Weisel we learn about his life in the concentration camps as a jew, people in these camps get treated horribly everyday from being hit to getting burned alive. “You still don’t understand ? you sons of a bitches. Don’t you understand anything? You will be burned! Burned to a cinder! Turned into ashes!” During this time period the germans believed that they were the aryan race and that the race should not be impure by having jews around. The nazis didn’t care who you were, where you came from. If you were a jew then you were automatically marked as bad and had to be killed right away. This story takes place in 1994 Rwanda,Africa where the hutu group are attacking the “rebel” Tutsis. In one scene of the movie we see when the hutu soldiers and the protagonist Paul are at the diplomat with his family trying to get the keys to the hotel when suddenly all his family members are outside on the floor fearing for their lives because of the hutu soldiers were going to kill them for being “rebels.” In this scene we see how bad the problem really is, they went to kill all of the tutsis at once they considered them as an infestation.
