In the Night by Elie Wiesel he experienced a lot of traumatic experiences in the holocaust and what happened to him and his family .Hitler wanted to dehumanize the jews because he thought they were creatures so he put them in death camps and cattle cars to make them no longer feel humaine.There are many ways that hitler dehumanized and exterminate jews,in chapters one through three. For example, one way that Hitler started dehumanizing the jews was taking them from their homes and barely letting them take anything. For example in chapter 1 page 14 it says, “Each of us will be allowed to bring his personal belongings. A backpack, some food, a few items of clothing. Nothing else.” He even took all of their valuables for example on page 10 chapter 1 “the Hungarian police burst into every Jewish home in town: a Jew was henceforth forbidden to own gold, jewelry, or any valuables. Everything had to be handed over to the authorities, under penalty of death.” …show more content…

They checked the bars on the windows to make sure they would not come loose. The cars were sealed. One person was placed in charge of every car: if someone managed to escape, that person would be shot.”.
