David Hoffman Mrs. McQuiggan Public Speaking 8 February 2018 Demonstration Speech ( How to connect a 2nd monitor to a laptop) Introduction: I'm sure everyone in the room is familiar with the term multitasking am I correct? For some it is a hard concept to grasp and for others extremely easy. I know for me I have had my troubles with multitasking time and time again when I was younger and probably the same for some of you in the audience. In today's presentation I am going to show you all how to setup and operate a dual monitor on a laptop. So just in case you need to look at two windows at once, it won't be such a hassle trying to click back and forth. Body: Now, all of the items you will need are right here in front of me and all of …show more content…
Transition: With all of the items out of the way it is time to show the initial setup and the physical work of the operation before we tinker with its fragile mind. Body: Now my laptop is an older laptop so if you see right here [show VGA port] it has a VGA port, But it also has an HDMI port. Plug them into each other, and turn them all. Transition: Now that both of them are on and waiting to connect lets go ahead and interconnect these two devices together. Body: Now that they are connected, if we simply go down to the bottom taskbar we will see a little speech box thing. When clicked it will show a decent amount of features but the one we are wanting is the feature “Project”. When connected, windows 10 will automatically set it to duplicate which is not what we want, just click extend and tadaa we now have a dual monitor setup. Conclusion: Now what I have shown you is pretty simple but alot of people still had trouble figuring it out, which is understandable because it is easily overlooked. Now let's rewind a bit and go through again. Plug the VGA cable into the laptop and monitor. Plug the Monitor into the wall. Open the little box and click Project. Then click extend. Now with this knowledge you will be able to multitask to your heart's content, like Taking notes of a video for a class right when your watching
