There are several examples of duality in the Iroquois creation story. The most important events in the story happened in pairs. The storyteller sets the tone in the beginning with the two worlds. The upper and the lower world. The upper world was light and the lower was darkness. Though we only got a brief glimpse at the upper world before the story descends into the lower world.
