In the story The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, by Robert Louis Stevenson, Dr. Jekyll has always wanted to find his evil side. He believes that man is not one, but two. He makes a potion that can turn him into his evil side, Mr. Hyde. Mr. Hyde steps on a little girl and commits a murder. At the end of the book, Dr Jekyll explains his case in a letter that he wrote right before he died. Dr. Jekyll is truly the malefactor of the story, he is the one who created the monstrous Mr. Hyde.
