In Aldous Huxley quote, he indicates that even though people ignore facts, they are still present. This statement is really convincing, as it relates to the authenticity of life. His proclamation about facts is truthful as we can see in the play The Crucible, through simple observation of the dynamics of relationships in the modern world, and through personal experience. This statement can be clearly seen in The Crucible. The play deals with the accusation of people being witches, this actually not being true and people ignoring facts as it could actually ruin their reputation. During the play, Abigail, a sixteen-year-old girl, lies about people being witches. Danforth because of his investment personally and professionally doesn't …show more content…
Likewise, Parris also tries to hide most facts, when the play starts, he ignores completely that his daughter could actually be possessed by the devil, in order to preserve his prestige. Furthermore, he doesn’t want to express to the villagers that the fact that witches are present might be untrue. The reason is that this could make the village revolt because of all of the damage, on account of those accusations. One of my classmates used to cheat on some of the exams or quizzes we took on class, so she never studied but passed the class. She ignored the fact that, it was not going to be good for her in the future, and so one day we had a pop quiz. As a consequence of that behavior of never studying, she failed the pop quiz. In other words, she was ignoring the fact that studying would become beneficial at what point of the course and that she was actually lying to herself, not to the teacher. She lied to herself as she thought to learn was not beneficial, but just a waste of her personal time. Time which she might rather spend playing video games or watch TV shows. After all, because those facts always come to light she became, aware of the terrible mistake she was making by not studying and cheating and that pop quiz proved the fact that she was not being truthful to herself, and what she really needed was to work hard. And that it was hurting her learning experience and what she could get out of going to school. Even though she was genuinely trying to ignore the facts, as that truth hurt, she couldn’t do it, Deep inside she knew that those facts existed and that studying was the bare minimum to achieving good grades on a course, through all of your learning
