“Happy Hunger Games! And may the odds be ever in your favor.” -Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games. In this movie, the characteristics of feminism were used within the film. Some of those characteristics resulted in masculinity as well. Her possession of these feminine traits caused my opinion to the thought that these traits are more due to her position in her family then to that of a girl who is tomboyish in nature. As you pay close attention to the movie, you start to witness the connection between femininity and masculinity within The Hunger Games. She is the movie protagonist, the head of her family, has great skill in the bow and arrow while hunting, and she is athletic. That shows her feminine side of selflessness and family oriented. The masculine side is her having the courage to volunteer and take a chance in death. She assumes she has to take the male role of getting the money in the family.
