Going Back In Time Everyone in modern society strived for wealth, power, and freedom. Well to tell you the truth who wouldn't want to have wealth, power or freedom. In a modern society being on top of the food chain was considered to be the ¨American dream¨. Little kids get to experience this threw their first five years. They had power and they knew how it worked. One little cry and sure enough daddy or mommy handed over whatever their little angel wanted. In the great gatsby Daisy's little girl showed these signs. The American dream was having the latest cars clothes and jewlery. In the great gatsby daisy wanted the american dream. She wanted to be wealthy and have all the power. Gatsby and daisy were seeing each other. There was only one problem ¨no poor man marries a wealthy woman¨(the great gatsby). Daisy came from a home of wealth and power. Gatsby was poor he worked and lived on a farm. It was a shame if someone poor were to marry someone wealthy. Daisy left gatsby for Tom who offered her the american dream. In the eyes are watching god, Janie took chances she didn't settle for less, she wanted to live a fun life. Her first husband was a bore to her all he wanted to do was work and work. Once her second husband came along he gave her a little taste of freedom but after a while he started to become responsible and she didn't take it to kindly. She wanted to be wild and free. Once Tea cake came along he showed her she was young and free. So she took the chance to run off with him and sadly it worked out for a bit. It all ended once Tea cake became sick and he died. She experienced the life she wanted thanks to tea cake. If she would of never have taken that chance she would have never fulfilled the life she wanted.
