The Harlem Renaissance took place in New York, 1918-1937. It was the blossoming of African American culture because they were seeking jobs
Many of the works of the Harlem Renaissance show racism being fought by arts, owever some works convey these themes better than others.
In The Song Love Will Find A Way, I’m Just Wild About Harry, and we see the importance of all working together to strengthen African American culture in the Harlem Renaissance. ”He's sweet just like chocolate candy”, and “ I'm just wild about Harry And Harry's wild about me.” Are both lyrics from the song that indicate love between the community. These lyrics demonstrate love between African Americans. In Addition to this the Negro National Athem is another example from the communites work in the Harlem Renaissance. ”Come to the place for which our fathers sighed?” and “God of our weary years, God of our silent tears”. This is a community because it says “our” and that means it has a community in hope of God. Being together in faith can assemble a community by staying together in hope. This shows that in the Harlem Renaissance there is an importance of all working together to strengthen African American culture in the community. As we can see, community is important to the Harlem Renaissance because in the songs Love Will Find A Way, and I’m Just Wild About Harry there are 2 people from a place where they depend on each other like a community. Another example of this is the Negro National Athem where the community depends on god to help them push through. If the Harlem Renaissance didn’t have a community there wouldn’t be the Harlem Renaissance, the reason for this is without a community there wouldn’t have a culture, and renaissance means revival of culture.
