The Holocaust was during World War II. Between 1941 and 1945, Nazi Germany and others murdered six million Jews, which was around two-thirds of Europe's Jewish population across German-occupied Europe. Of about 6 million Jewish people who were murdered in the Holocaust, 1.5 million were children. As a result of the suffering of the Nazi regime, several European countries formulated a law that criminalized both denial of the Holocaust and the promotion of Nazi ideology. Besides Adolf Hitler, the German citizens and the countries who refused to take in Jewish refugees actively took part and were responsible for the Holocaust by discriminating and refusing to help the Jews to prevent the holocaust. The evidence, however, overwhelmingly supports the fact that the Nazi Soldiers were at fault, but does not have enough evidence to support the claim that they were most at fault because all they did was to follow Hitler’s instructions. The claim makes it seem as if it was only the Nazi soldiers but let us look at this, in general the Nazi soldiers, the SS officer etc. were citizens, too. In general, the German citizens were highly responsible because they discriminated against and deprived Jews of their rights. According to “United States Holocaust Memorial Museum,” the author explains “Some of our neighbors [...] took whatever they wanted.” Admittedly, the essence of the author’s claim is to prove to the reader that the Germans took Jews’ properties, they looted the little that the Jews had willingly, without being forced to follow any instruction. Also, the Germans saw, heard, and knew about the mass killings being carried out as the Jews were being taken away and deported, but they all decided to keep quiet and turn a blind eye to the injustice happening around them, none of them stood up for the Jews, they only stole from them. According to “United States Holocaust Memorial Museum,” the author explains “German physicians helped carry out Nazi eugenic racial policies aimed at increasing the births of hereditary healthy "German-blooded" persons and decreasing those of persons viewed as genetically "defective" and a burden on national resources.” This proves that the German Physicians voluntarily assisted the Nazis by carrying out their racial policies aimed at killing the Jews. The Nazi soldiers followed Hitler's instructions involuntarily and they did it for a prize or a reward, while the German physicians did it at their own will. This means that they were not expecting anything in return, and they did it to discriminate against the Jews and begin the
