The Evils That Were Truly Behind the Holocaust (Maybe)

Death stalked the land of central Europe from the years of 1938 to 1945. He swept across Germany, Poland, and many other countries, taking millions of souls to the afterlife. In this case, death goes by another name. Hitler. Adolf Hitler was a power-hungry and frankly psychotic tyrant. He was a monster who used his power to attempt to wipe out an entire community of people just because of his personal hatred. The Holocaust was a terrible event that decimated and forever haunted the Jewish community in Europe. Hitler was the main reason that the Holocaust occurred, and the blame should fall almost entirely on him. However, the Holocaust

To begin, the most obviously guilty group is the top SS officers. They orchestrated the entire system of mass murder that was used to exterminate the Jews. They began this “while establishing the concentration camps,” (“SS”). The top SS officers were the ones who created a way to systematically murder thousands of Jews. Without the SS, the Nazi regime could not have done so much damage, since the “SS remained the backbone of the Nazi regime,” (“SS”). The SS were the whole reason that the Nazi managed to exterminate six million Jews, further solidifying their culpability. The top SS soldiers were “war criminals who had been involved in the persecution and extermination of Jews,” (“SS”). These men had the blood of millions on their hands created by their cruel and unusual concentration camps. The top SS officers are liable for the Holocaust because they gave Hitler and the rest of the Nazis a way to kill all Jews in Europe. The second group that can be blamed

These people created a system that made “expressions of Hitler’s ideology, where the children represented the reserve manpower that would ensure the continued existence of the ‘Thousand Year Reich,’” (“Hitler Youth”). This group molded children into hateful and cruel people that firmly believed in Hitler’s ideology and acted as a backup military. This is especially true because “when they grew up, they became agents of the ‘Final Solution’ - murderers by conviction,” (“Hitler Youth”). The Hitler Youth trained kids from a very young age to be killing machines. They were physically and mentally conditioned to be willing and ready to join the Nazi army. Towards the end of the war, some kids as young as 16 joined the military to fight. As clearly stated before, “the task of the Hitler Youth was to politically indoctrinate and physically harden young people,” (Lauridsen). This group acted as a backup army and allowed the Holocaust to continue, even pushing impressionable kids into service. The organizers of the Hitler Youth brainwashed young kids into hating Jews, and thus spread more lies and harmful stereotypes. These people created mindless Nazi drones that became the Nazi soldiers who pulled the trigger on countless Jewish
