In the book Christopher says that he imagines a world where he was the only one in various scenarios, I’ll tell you why. This means that he is an introvert. In the book The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time it says “ You also have to be someone who would like being on their own in a tiny space. ”(Haddon 50) This shows how Cristopher is an introvert.
That little orphan boy, that one family member who made an unforgivable mistake, or even that shy girl who sits in the corner of the room all endure isolation; although all of the situations vary, the people affected suffer the same harsh effects of isolation. Isolation does not only affect a person’s feelings it affects their view on the world, society and their interpretations of illusion and reality. Extroverts can be some of the best people you meet. They have plenty to offer and thrive at the attention of others. However, being introverted can be just as great. In a society where being extroverted is the ideal, it can be very difficult to be an introvert. Susan Cain argues in her Ted Talk, “The Power of Introverts”, that introverts can share many brilliant ideas with the world and should be encouraged and celebrated for who they are.

He goes into the wild on his own, doing everything by himself. Christopher mccandless stands out of because he has an “ I can do it on my own attitude.”
Traveling around the world has always been viewed as experience and luxurious. Therefore, only those who are rich can experience it. Of course traveling has become a norm as millennials discover the benefits of it. In Amanda Machado’s “How Millennials Are Changing Travel” article, she conveys that millennials are expanding their vacations and escaping their comfort zone. On the other hand, in Derrick Fung’s “How Millennials Are Changing Travel”, article he asserts that millennials thrive for experiences and are influenced by social media to travel.

A large number of these letters were collected, collated and entered onto a the Grand Tour Database (www.grandtour.amdigital.co.uk.) together with published collations and travel guides that formed a genre of factual and entertaining travelogues and guides related guides which were widely circulated for those about to travel and for those interested in, but unable to afford foreign travel. Going into the wild and abandoning all that you know and love is such a hard task to do. Chris McCandless is a brave soul for going on that journey to find himself and discover who he truly is. Living in complete solitude with nature was his solution to his personal issues at home and inside his head. He longed for complete happiness and believed he could discover it on his journey to Alaska. Anthony Storr, a noted psychiatrist explains, "creative attitude and the ability to have peak experiences depends upon being free of other people...", and I agree with this idea.
One can conduct self-exploration for career purposes by approaching their interests, talents, strengths, weaknesses, work value, life style, and finances. Another source of information that one can use to conduct a self-exploration would be to review the influencers in their lives. Influencers are the people or ideas that has had an impact on your life. By reviewing these elements of themselves they will gain a better understanding of them as an individual and as an employee. By knowing who they are, a person can properly choose a career path to fellow while also improving their lives.
We all have the thirst for adventure, no matter how dangerous the journey may be. The novel, Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer, tells us the story about a young man named Chris McCandless who had that thirst. Chris decided to take a trip to Alaska and live in the wild. Before McCandless left, he only packed a few things, causing him to be unprepared for this long treacherous adventure. Along the way he has met many people that were willing to help him get to his destination.

Being able to learn how to entertain oneself means the individual will learn how to be happy even when there is nothing to do. As DeBotton writes,” The sole cause of man’s unhappiness is that he does not know how to stay quietly in his room”, not being comfortable with oneself could affect everything in a way, like how people see you and how they will treat you (DeBotton 60). Individuals would leave the room because they want to look for happiness, but they do not understand that by doing that the happiness is not truly theirs. This happiness comes from others and when the individual is hanging out with the person that leaves, the individual will go back to being alone. That is why the main issue with individuals is the inability to cope with solitude; but if the individual train to persevere through the loneliness, then the individual can find true joy in traveling
Pop art era originated in New York during the mid-1950s and ended in the early 1970s. It focused on familiar places in citizen’s day to day life, creating commercial images and during this time Pop art boomed because of the media World War II was receiving. Roy Lichtenstein’s painting “WHAAM!” would mostly fall under the category of the Pop art era for the reasons being that it is based on an image from a DC comic “All American Man of War” which was published by DC comics in 1962. Lichtenstein presented a powerfully charged scene in an impersonal manner, leaving the viewer to decipher the meaning for themselves. The painting is in a comic style of art (Pop Art) and depicts two fighter jets (one owned by the United States the other owned by the Soviet Union) in the air with one shooting a missile towards the other jet with a humongous “WHAAM!”

Some of his plays are so easy to determine if it is a tragedy or comedy! But the merchant of venice is a whole other beast in itself. Lots of people say that it is both.
In a different environment where no one can really put a label on you, especially if you are alone, it is probable that certain issues or aspects of one’s personality, which would have otherwise remained dormant, manifest themselves, allowing you to be “born again”. In this situation, you don’t live in the past or the future, but in the present where it is almost impossible for you to ignore your inner self, biases, values, and opinions. The thought of traveling alone usually expresses a feeling of loneliness, but in reality being on your own encourages you to learn and understand yourself in ways that cannot be achieved by staying in your habitual territory. This can occur because of many factors including, but not limited to individuals around us and their culture.
