There are many examples of irony from the “Lamb to the slaughter,” which is that when Mary knew that Patrick is leaving her and discussing supper options randomly. She told Patrick that “There’s plenty of meat and stuff in the freezer, and you can have it right here and not even move out of the chair.” Reading this repeatedly, it was quite and ironic because Mary brought the leg of the lamb to the living room. While Mary brought the leg of the lamb, Patrick has the lamb but not in the same way that Mary has.
