Over the centuries, many leaders have risen and fallen, including Hitler, to whom Stalin is referring in the previous quote. If you were to break it down, all leaders have fallen out of favour because of little mistakes, be it Napoléon Bonaparte, Grand Duke Michael Alexandrovich or Pol Pot. Macbeth was a strong, obedient soldier who was corrupted by the temptation of kingship. He simply wanted to be in power, but little mistakes made his “invincible army” fall to pieces. Macbeth was a perfect example that trivial mistakes can lead to a quick demise, and discredit to your name. Mistakes can inhibit work of any sort. Many a time did Macbeth make large mistakes. Many people regard Macbeth’s first mistake as killing Duncan. As soon as Duncan was killed, Macbeth was very lucky to lay the blame on Donalbain and Malcolm. After Macbeth killed the guards, which was his second mistake, suspicion was immediately shown towards him by his rival, Macduff. Macbeth also ignored the Apparitions, “Macbeth! Macbeth! Macbeth! Beware Macduff./ Beware the thane of Fife. Dismiss me. Enough.” (IV,I, 74-75) With the exception of the second, who gave his ego and sense of invincibility a massive boost. Macbeth’s “karma” finally started to affect him after his wife killed herself because of the guilt she felt for encouraging Macbeth to kill Duncan. Macbeth’s otherwise positive attitude startedto become depressed, and he shrinks back into his castle, awaiting the onslaught of Malcolm’s army. Macbeth is acting like a kid at this point, mostly because he mopes around his castle like a child when he does not get his
