Quoting the infamous Hannah Montana, “nobody’s perfect”. When I was eleven and obsessed with this celebrity, I would never have thought that I would be relating to her in a high school essay, yet… who knows what can happen! As Miss Montana says, “everybody makes mistakes”, which is the absolute truth. When living in the moment, we don’t take the necessary time to plan how our actions and mistakes will affect our future. Though time travel isn’t an option… yet… , other ways of going back to fix these accidental mistakes CAN happen. In The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Gatsby believed that things from the past can change, and you yourself can be the person you were before the mistake was made (Fitzgerald, 116). This belief is right on the dot, and forgiveness and changes are existent because of a man who died on a cross FOR our mistakes. If making mistakes and not fixing them was a part of this life, our world would be chaotic. Gatsby was correct in his thinkings, and his ideas can be applied to many different aspects of our life. Daisy and Gatsby ended their relationship for multiple reasons, (Fitzgerald, 82) but that didn’t mean it could never be something again. Because I am a Hallmark movie extraordinaire, I am aware that running down the dimly lit sidewalk to the elegant gazebo where the love of your life is crying and shocked when they turn around to see you, can happen.
