Many think Pony boy has a rough life. He even has his brothers with him at tough times. Just like the rumble how two bit 's, Darry and Pony boy fought the Socs. Then, the greasers win the rumble against the Socs. Therefore, Pony boy will be better with his brothers than foster care.
He is kind to his gang and helps people out and tries to learn but it isn't for him. Johnny also tries to emotionally help Pony when they were crying. He says to Pony, “stay gold, Ponyboy. stay gold…”pg. 148.
Ponyboy and Johnny are heroes, including Cherry. A hero is wise, brave, kind, and a just person. Ponyboy is a hero because a hero is wise. While Ponyboy was in the “tuff” mustang with Randy, Ponyboy corrected Randy by saying, ‘No’ … ‘You hate the world.’
Ponyboy is a hero. He always thinks of others before himself. For example he saves the kids in the church, were as some one how is not a hero would think about them selfs and think it is too dangerous. He is very selfless for example he broke a glass to scare of the group of three Socs that were ganging up on him but then he picked up the glass because he was worried that someone would get a flat trier.
Johnny is loyal and would sacrifice his reputation to save Ponyboy’s life. Darry, one of Ponyboy’s brothers goes to work everyday to earn money for the people he loves, he does this so that his brothers could all be one family. Toghether they make it through anything. 2.) A central conflict for Ponyboy in The Outsiders is his worry for his family and friends. For instance, Ponyboy really worries about Johnny and Dally when they are in the hospital. This interprets that Ponyboy can’t stand to live without them or see them badly hurt. In other words, Pony loves his family and friends and if one dies everyone will be depressed and uncomfortable. Another example is that Ponyboy also gets to know Bob and Randy, and how they were good guys to hang around with.
Johnny may be described as a hero for doing this because he exposed inner courage and strength to protect his friend, even though the Socs could’ve easily hurt him. This shows that Johnny cares more about Ponyboy than himself, and is willing to do anything and everything to protect him from harm. Johnny could’ve easily let Ponyboy drown, but he didn’t. In the Outsiders this had happened and Ponyboy, Johnny, and Dally were heroes. Ponyboy, Johnny, and Dally are heroes for many reasons. Ponyboy is a hero because he is courageous and not afraid to rescue and help people in their times of need. One main reason why Ponyboy is a hero is that when school children are stuck in a fire Ponyboy runs in to rescue them.
Anyone can be a hero, as long as they act like one. Ponyboy is a hero. Ponyboy is kind, brave and adventurous. One time he acted as a hero was when he saved the children from the burning church with Johnny and said, “I’ll get them, don’t worry!” (page 91).
On the day of the rumble, Pony is taking with Two-bit, and while they were talking Pony is saying how tough he is but Two-bit told him to bring a bottle so he could defend him-self but Pony denies him. Two-bit says “Ponyboy, listen, don’t get tough. Your not like the rest of us and don’t try to be… What [is] the matter with Two-bit?
Utilitarianism ethics mainly decides if a decision is ethical based on if it helps the majority over the individual. It is essentially “the greatest good for the greatest number”. It also states that an action is decidedly right or wrong depending on its consequences. The people who oppose the building of tailing dams argue that the building of these dams is unethical based on the idea that it will not benefit the greatest number of people. They believe that it has a higher likelihood of negatively effecting the majority rather than benefiting from it.
These 3 people are people I consider that are very important to the book. Ponyboy is one of the people in the book that deserves to be or is a hero. Ponyboy is very courageous and helps others. One of the quotation that can support that he’s a hero is when he realized the children are in the burning church he was not afraid at all and said, “I’ll get them, don’t worry!” (p. 91)

He ultimately became a better person a the end of his life. Johnny is a Christ-like figure because he sacrificed himself to save children from a fire; Johnny also contributes to the a theme of the book: appearances aren’t everything; lastly he serves to teach Ponyboy about the world though his actions and words. Johnny is a Christ-like figure for saving kids from a burning building. Evidence is shown in this quote—“Johnny yelled, ‘shut up! We’re goin’ to get you out!’”
