These events were full of conflicts and the desires for the need of power. Mostly every character wanted power in the book, but, Victor Frankenstein is willing to create things to make sure he achieves power and feels the effect of it. Victor is so obsessed with science and knowledge that he decides to make something so powerful. Within his apartment, he works for months with hard labor, trying to complete this creation. Becoming so obsessed while working, Victor completely forgets about his social life, ignoring his friends and family. His cousin, Elizabeth, is so worried about him in the process. She writes him constantly, always explaining her concern for him. Once Victor finally creates the creature, he becomes terrified of the monster. As he is created, all he feels is hunger, thirst and cold. After Victor runs away, terrified of the monster, the monster wonders towards a cottage. He looks into the cottage, eavesdropping on the people within it. As he watches, he wants to be just like them. After watching the individuals in the cottage, he starts to feel worthless. As a result of wanting to be like the people within the small cottage, he goes to the cottage to confront them. Scared, Felix, one of the cottagers, shooed him away. The monster feels betrayed and worthless, wanting to avenge himself. The monster wants to feel more power than he feels now, not knowing what to do most of the time. Although, he slowly begins to figure a few things out on his own, which leads to him having the mindset of holding more power. After the cottage incident, the monster finds Victor. The creature explains that he wants a female monster to keep him company. Victor agrees, and starts to create another creature. Although, once he starts to create it, he decided against it because of the risks and thinks that the female monster will be hideous. Once victor tells the monster, the monster does not take it well.
