Real Life Situations in Shakespeare's Play A Midsummer Night’s dream, written by William Shakespeare, was written over 400 years ago. The play is really old but, there are many situations that happen in the play that could still happen today. Some situations in the play that happen in the play that happen in real life are, Having different opinions, a big misunderstanding, and over thinking.

Having different opinions is a big problem in the play. In Act 1, Scene 1, Egeus, Hermia’s dad, wants Hermia to marry a rich man, Demetrius. Hermia doesn't want to marry Demetrius, she wants to marry Lysander. This situation could easily happen in real life. For example, in the movie, “Spaceballs”, a similar situation happened. The princess's dad wanted her to marry a prince, but the prince was boring and kept yawning. The Princess ran away and fell in love with a different guy who wasn't a prince. The guy ended up saving the princess from danger and the father agreed to allow them to get married. The yawning price is like Demitrius, the princess was like Hermia, and Lysander is like the other guy the princess fell in love with. In the middle of the play, Puck, a fairy, gives a love potion to the wrong people, making the wrong people fall in love. He made Lysander fall in love with Helena instead of Demetrius. This is a common situation that happens in real life. For example, two people love each other very much and the girl goes on vacation for business. The guy goes out for dinner with his cousin and they take pictures. He posts the pictures online and the girlfriend sees them both out together so she thinks he is cheating on her.
