In the book, Fahrenheit 451, books are considered a major taboo. Anyone who has one will be taken in and questioned, and the book will get burnt, and in some cases, the person themselves get burnt. In the event that you have a lot of them, they burn your house that you worked so hard to buy. The main character, Guy Montag has been having a hard time with this law, since he wants in order to know whether it’s considered lawfully right or not. Then comes a 17 year-old girl named Clarisse. Clarisse is considered extremely peculiar since she has “unusual” habits, such as asking questions and admiring beauty whereas they would not be considered beautiful in her society. He got to the point of near insanity. He started to think whether he really wanted to burn books his whole life just due to the fact that his father and his father’s father were Firemen. He also started to think whether he loved his wife or not. He thought he did, but then the more he thought about it the more he realized it was a lie. His wife spent a lot of time listening to a T.V. type mechanism which they called “family”and Montag realized she probably loved the people in T.V. more than she loved him. The only reason he figured that out was due to the fact that of the question Clarisse asked him. After that, she asked him more and more questions, and told him stories about things like what her uncle said it was like before books were outlawed. He didn’t believe it at first, but eventually did. He eventually started to do what she did little by little. He examined a flower and realized when there were no more flowers on the ground, which he wouldn’t have realized without her. He stared into the sky and took in the beauty of the stars. All the questions she asked were good questions, making him think. Then he started to walk with her in order to get more of her
