Beowulf: The Three Enemies

There are three enemies throughout the Beowulf play. Beowulf fights all three of these heroically. Beowulf fights Grendel, Grendel’s Mother, and the Dragon. Beowulf is a fighter that defeats many battles and born in Geatland. Before the battle may begin he must have the Kings permission to leave his hometown. Beowulf has many struggles throughout the writing in which you can see as he is battling the other character throughout the literature. He can be described as a powerful and strong monster even compared to the three battles he faces. He is very heroic and seems to find the “itch” he has for each of the characters. Beowulf strives for a better way of gaining control for a better reputation by killing beasts and monsters and saving the city.
Beowulf’s first battle was with Grendel. Terrorizing the town of Herot, Beowulf wanted to display his heroic abilities. As always he had to be right, so he proved himself to the citizens of Herot, Beowulf chose to battle Grendel without any form of defense to make the fight fair. Beowulf is king of the land and back to his right path of establishing himself as a main character. Beowulf has finally become a more humbling character noticeably. He is usually all into thrill seeking action while fighting. He is now not so conceited and stuck up while fighting. A slave steals a golden cup from the dragon. The dragon obviously becomes very agitated and finds a way to fight Beowulf. The dragon was such a scary figure that only one of the warriors is brave enough to help him. He goes through a tremendous and scary battle with the dragon and leads him to being poisoned in a wound. This is obviously his most challenging. This fight Beowulf takes his last breath and dies. He was put up to a great fight and is very heroic. The dragon does get butchered
