Toxic masculinity has taken our generation by storm, not only in person but over film. Most movies that you see, horror movies specifically, who is always the “bad guy”? A man that is trying to gain the result that he wants. Not all men present toxic traits but in the media commonly the toxic traits are more dominant and obvious. I believe that not every man is toxic and that that should be portrayed more often as an example to the younger generations.

The killer used his power over the main character to be able to sneak into her house, figure out the layout, and exactly how to manipulate her and scare her. This is a prime example of toxic masculinity because he was unable to just have a conversation with her about her not having sex with him, he used the traits of: “Normalizing violence, and a desire to dominate over others”. Using these traits he ended up creating many deeper issues than having a simple conversation with ever would have.
