Excitement in Gram Gram is an extremely enthusiastic person which is definitely shown in the passage. There are certainly a couple ways you can tell. You can tell by her personality and her beliefs, and how the author portrays Gram’s beliefs in the story. It also shows how the two things are very alike. Hopefully Gram’s beliefs won’t get her in too much trouble! Gram has an exciting and spunky personality. When you start reading further in the story you can start to recognize what Gram’s belief is. It starts to click when you read in paragraph two “Let’s go see that Old Faithful.. I’ve waited my whole life to see Old Faithful.” She seems very anxious to get out of there and see the sight, but you tell even more in paragraph when Gram tries to climb under the ropes in order to get closer to Old Faithful! It is started to show by that time in the story with her child mannerisms that her belief is probably going to be that everyone can be a kid again. Some examples of this was in paragraph 13. It stated “Gram tapped her fingers together, getting more and more excited” and “Is it time?” she kept on repeating herself in the paragraph “Is it almost time?” Finally the geyser erupted and Gram was more excited than a little kid on Christmas morning. She was completely mesmerized! WHile other people backed up from the fierce geyser she stood there is shock. That shows even more that Gram was definitely being a kid again by not sleeping the night before she went to see Old Faithful, by breaking the rules because of her excitement, by asking over and over if it was almost time, and just being amazed by Old
