Many know how horrific and cruel the Salem Witch trials were. We’ve learnt about them all our life. We’ve heard about the paranoid people who were accusing others and we’ve learnt of those who supported this, but, we never really learn about the people who were all against this. We never really learned about the people who did good in hopes of helping those accused.
Our story begins when in the spring of 1692 came paranoia when a group of young girls were beginning to thrash around and do the most odd of things. The doctors were soon consulted and they said that the girls were bewitched. The girls were asked and gave three different names; Tituba, Sarah Good, and Sarah Osborne. After naming these three women, the girls later began naming more and more locals, this beginning the Salem Witch Trials.
After this began and the first three women were imprisoned, one of them, Tituba, began naming others, saying they worked with her for the devil. When these people were also imprisoned they went through the trials. One of the things those of whom were asked to do was to do something such as reciting the Lord’s Prayer. This was because if there was anything not seen as normal such as birthmarks, acne, moles, anything of the sort was used as evidence against them.
