In the story “In the Unlikely Event of a Water Landing" by Christopher Noes, it explains the murder of Catherine Genovese. In 1964 Kitty was brutally killed by Winston Moseley. The murder took place around 3a.m. The crime lasted 35 minutes with three separate attacks. She screamed so, 38 witnesses saw the scene and offered no assistance.
The bullet is symbolic. While Winston is not physically dead, he is mentally killed. Winston will never recover. He is not running or cheering. He no longer loves Julia.
Winston looks in the mirror and notices he looks powerless and gray, as he knew this time would come as soon as he began the diary logs. In chapter four, Winston was placed in a less distressing room. He grows
Based on the evidence in the “Winston Peacock Case,” it is clear that Winston Peacock was murdered. First and foremost, in the crime scene photo, Mr. Peacock is shown laying on the ground with a pistol in his right hand and blood oozing out of his head. Typically, when a person dies one would drop whatever is in their hands and fall to the ground because there is no life in their body. In the crime scene photo, Mr. Peacock had a pistol directly beneath his right hand. It can be concluded from the given evidence that someone murdered Mr. Peacock and placed the gun under his hand to make it seem like Mr. Peacock committed suicide.
In this section, Winston’s entire out look and thought process changes extremely quickly and determinedly. Once he starts to interact with this girl who he seems to keep bumping into to, the whole course of Winston’s outwardly obedient but internally disobedient behavior becomes much more actively counter regime than it ever had before. This drastic change begins even in his first interaction with the mysterious girl who falls in front of him in the hallway at their office, “A curious emotion stirred in Winston’s heart. In front of him was an enemy who was trying to kill him; in front of him, also, was a human creature, in pain and perhaps with a broken bone. Already he had instinctively started forward to help her” (107-108).

However, Winston Smith is not the hero that Oceania needed because even though he wrote anti-government messages in his journal, he wrote nothing of significance, he betrayed his lover when given the chance to prove his strength, to comply with the government, and was broken and taken over by Big Brother. Merely purchasing a journal to write in is illegal in Oceania. Winston knew this but he journaled nonetheless, using it for self-expression, which is denied under party rule.
This displays that Winston's role as a records editor is crucial to the function of The Party and plays an important role in the theme of the novel. Another example of this is shown when three messages slid out of the pneumatic tube while Winston was working, but he disposed of them and went back to work as if nothing had ever happened. Winston Peacock’s Mystery Mr. Winston Peacock was found in his home January 2nd. Jenny Goodheart, the mail carrier, discovered his body after peering through the side window of the house. She’d noticed the previous day’s milk bottle and mail still on his front step, unusual for Mr. Peacock, so she had investigated.

Allan Pinkerton was the youngest of seven children born to William Pinkerton, a police sergeant in Glasgow. Pinkerton began an apprenticeship as a cooper when he finished his education.

The first evidence takes place inside the Ministry of Love, when Winston was surprised to see Parsons in custody. Parsons explains to Winston how his daughter eavesdropped on him at night, caught him saying anti-party phrases, and
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead (Three Messages that can be inferred from Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead.) Almost no worthy literary text of importance has no themes or messages in it.
The heroic efforts by Winston and Julia were completely thwarted. Winston had finally shown signs that he could be a hero. But they were ruined by O’Brien. Julia and Winston are forced to separate and then they are both subject to torture. The downfall of Winston begins at this point, any heroic signs that had begun to sprout out of Winston were utterly destroyed.
