Imagine having an animal that can weigh up to 200 pounds, grow up to 23 feet and isn’t even native to America and is still harming one of Florida’s ecosystem. This is what the Burmese Python (native to South Asia) is doing to the Everglade’s ecosystem. This animal is being bought by irresponsible pet owners and when they get to large they’re being released into the everglades which is harming that environment critically. The Burmese Python will devour anything in its way it does not have any predators. The Everglades is just like the snakes natural habitat South Asia with a warm climate it didn’t take a long time for the Burmese Python to get used to their new home.
This python has a lot of effects on this ecosystem. Burmese pythons are from Asia. These snakes in the United States were used as pets. These snakes are a invasive species. These snakes got into the wild because they escaped when storms crashed trucks and they escaped.
In the news paper article it states that''with no natural predators these eating machines appear to be wining out huge numbers of opossums, racoons , bob cats, as well as many birds species Until now growth of Burmese pythons are huge and they are going around eating other animals,'' these animals are in Florida because we brought them here.'' And the Burmese python are a big threat to the ecosystem of Florida's everglades.
This is hurting the ecosystem by wiping out all of these animals and if the Florida Everglades is going to stay intact the problem needs to be noticed. In source 2 it says, "These eating machines appear to be wiping out huge numbers of opossums, raccoons, and bobcats, as well as many bird species". So the Burmese Pythons have wiped out huge numbers of animals and the problem needs to be solved. It also says in source 4, "If we want to preserve the Everglades, we have to address it". So the problem in the Florida Everglades needs to be fixed as soon as
Some people are choosing to make them their pets. They either finding these pythons or buying them and keeping them as pets. Some owners are irresponsible and accidentally lose them or just let them free. This has a big impact on the growing population of these pythons. One example is this exotic pet dealer’s warehouse that housed nearly 900 Burmese pythons, it was destroyed and all the pythons that were in there got released.
Burmese Pythons are a species of snakes that originate from Southeast Asia. They are an invasive species, and invade in places such as the Florida Everglades. Many people had them as pets, but when they became too big for homeowners they decided to set them free into the Everglades. As snakes can eat many large and small animals, they have enough to food to survive. But as they are not native to the Florida Everglades they then have no natural predators, so they reproduce, and each egg has about 10 snakes in them, so you can see why that may be a problem.
The Burmese python has become a predatory species in the Florida Everglades. The reason for this problem is the rapid growth rate of the species occurring all over the Everglades. The species have become pets and then thrown in canals. They also escape from zoos and move from other states because of the warm moist weather. The environment is an excellent breeding ground for the ever growing population of Burmese pythons in the Everglades.
You might think that letting a Burmese python go because it’s best for them, then you’re wrong! Burmese pythons are capable of growing up to 23ft and can weigh up to 200 pounds. Yes! You’re reading this right. 200 pounds!
Many people use dogs or cats as their emotional support animal, but there are some that would consider their exotic pets an emotional support animal as well. Exotic pets should not be considered emotional support animals because they can be potentially harmful to the owner and the people around them and are not usually a domesticated animal. Many people enjoy owning pets that could be considered exotic. They feel that it shows wealth and power. Some people even go so far as to consider this
Exotic animals are animals that stay wild, do not have resources that are easily accessible, and can be dangerous which means that humans should not be allowed to keep them as pets. If exotic animals stay wild then they should not be allowed as a pet. In the text piece entitled “Do You Really Want a Baby Tiger” by Mia Lewis it states “Exotic animals are something else. They are wild animals with wild animal instincts, even when born in captivity”.
Lies My Teacher Told Me American history is taught in schools all over the country. History is important since it educates students about the nation’s past. However, this past is portrayed as that of a “perfect” nation. Most school book authors know this history as lies. Conversely, James W. Loewen, the author of the Lies
Exotic animals are not good to buy and have. If you buy that cute tiger, it will eventually grow up and not be so cute as it used to be and it will also be dangerous and strong. It’s also a wild animal and it’s very unpredictable, and there are many diseases you can catch from that tiger, and there are many dangers of having that tiger that you can’t forget.
They are wild predators and threatening to some. But we should also understand why some opt to adopt them despite understanding its dangers. By implementing a law, we can make sure owners are responsible for it and thus provide adequate care for their own pets. We can make sure neighbors feel comfortable and accept these “special” friends. Last but not the least, we can make sure the animal is safe and free from suffocating cages and insufficient food.
The childhood dream of owning a pet monkey or tiger is a common one, but that’s all that owning an exotic animal should be: a dream. Over 10,000 exotic animals are trafficked into the United States each year, a multi-million-dollar industry on the black market. Owning a wild animal may seem fun and exciting, but with the ownership of such a creature, dangerous consequences follow. The ownership of an exotic animal not only puts the owner 's life at risk, but the animal 's and the environments. There is a common theme among people that it 's humanity 's responsibility to preserve the world we live in, yet there are more tigers in captivity than there are in the wild.
Exotic animals should not be treated as pets because they are not completely tamable, they belong to their natural habitat, and they may be transmitting zoonotic diseases to those around them. In contrast, some people believe that exotic animals should be kept as pets to save them from extinction.
