How Youth’s Individual Rights are Protected by the Federal Government.
Individual rights impact youth’s lives and experiences in many ways. These rights can preserve the quality of life for many of them, while also ensuring their safety. To guarantee that their lives are protected, ther Charter of Rights and Freedoms, along with the YCJA, which specifically targets youths was created. These have both influenced many youth’s lives leading to personal experiences that can benefit others as well.

Legal rights include being free of unjust search or seizure and imprisonment if there is no evidence. With this law in action, the federal government is protecting many youths individual rights. In schools students can’t have their lockers searched unless there is evidence, and they cannot be interrogated when they are more vulnerable like when they are alone. In addition to that, youths also have the legal right to have a quick trial, while still remaining innocent until proven guilty. Having this law, youths who do have to go to court, not only have an impartial court, but one that is fair. Equality rights can go hand in hand with youths and the federal government. These rights allow adults and youths to be free of any kind of discrimination. When youths are in schools, no one is permitted to victimize them, because of our protected individual rights.
