What emphasis does work, study, and family life have in your country or in your culture?
The general impression in America is an emphasis on all three of these areas. Family supposedly first, then work, and lastly study.
A simple google search will provide numerous articles presenting opinions and interviews that identify the corporate mentality that values the family above all, but also indicates the consistently failure to achieve true balance. (Sample: Groysberg and Abrahams, March 2014)
At its heart America is a capitalist nation. We love the idea of liberty. We acknowledge the importance of the anchor of Family. But the pursuit of the almighty dollar defeats many of our dreams for balance in family, work, and by extension, studies.
It seems that within the scope of human ability, we are not able to balance these aspects. It seems that our best work occurs when we commitment to a chronological order in these three fields. When one discipline receives priority over the other two functions.

I will not tender my words or phase my answer. If it were not for GOD, I could not do what I do. If it were not for GOD I would not find the support that I have. If it were not for GOD I would never have found University of People. If were not for GOD I would not have learned that family is defined by all of humanity. Does that guarantee me all that I desire or believe I need? NO! But what it has done, it has taught me how to see all experiences as a benefit to me.
