Many people believe that it’s unfair that NBA players are paid so much while many professions are not even making a fraction of what they make. NBA players are paid millions a year playing a ball game and this is income inequality. It’s really unfair that many people are doing real work and barely living comfortably. Sports aren’t needed in our world. It’s a fun hobby people could do. Our society would be fine without basketball. Teachers, doctors, or lawyers are all needed in our world because they better society. They provide education, healthcare, and justice for people. NBA players are just providing entertainment for us. NBA players are way overpaid compared to other professions in this world because the entertainment they provide is not a necessity in our world.

This world can live without the entertainment they provide. There are many jobs out there being paid nothing compared to them, yet their services are needed. For example, teachers educate our future and doctors are lifesavers, but they aren’t appreciated like NBA players. According to bleacherreport, Mihir Bhagat claims that “Furthermore, police officers, firefighters, and doctors save lives while risking their own for a fraction of what sports stars make. People in the military leave their families at home to defend and protect the country knowing they may never return. It's truly a pity that none of these true heroes are given the same recognition by society as athletes such as Brett Favre or Michael Jordan are given”.
