He and employees believed that this area could become a popular place for marketing and named the area Cleveland. During the Civil war, Cleveland became popular for manufacturing and trading among the northern states. With how close Cleveland was by the water and all of their organized rail lines, Cleveland became the center of the Manufacturing Belt along the Great Lakes and boarding states. Being close to the water provided many advantages for the city, for example, it provided cheap transportation to other marketing cities around Cleveland. This made Cleveland into an international port throughout the world.
Why do people leave their homeland? Some people are forced out, other people leave willingly with a smile on their face. Perhaps they were being discriminated against, perhaps they just wanted to make a little bit more cash. The people of the Plymouth colony were not allowed to practice their religion in England so they came to the New World. The people of Jamestown heard about the riches in the New World and high-tailed it to the New World to get rich.
Chapter 7 focuses on climate as it relates to conflict. When we think of climate, we think of atmosphere, mood, or the overall feel of any given situation. The book describes climate as three different types of interdependence in a situation: promotive, competitive, and individualistic, all of which represent areas found in climate analyses. The climate or mood is what shapes conflict when we are interacting with others. It’s the main ingredient that causes people to act in the ways that are conducive to their environment.
Others live in places where there were a lot of animals to hunt for. Others lived by mountains or on mountains for protection from other tribes. Then there are civilizations that migrated for better weather. F: The political, social, economic, and religious institutions were the highly organized societies such as cities that emerged.
Throughout my review of The Geography of Nowhere by James Kunstler I gave assessments on many different issues. However, for Randal O’Toole’s The Best-Laid Plans I did not. O’Toole sees government as the problem to everything and thinks the whole planning industry should close its doors. However, there is some good to planning and while planning for up to 50 years is advance is a bit too naïve, there may be some good to have broad targets that can be adjusted every five years or so as town and cities grow and change.
This is a great question that I will answer. How does place shape the individual? Well, I believe that place can have a huge impact on people and how they later grow up. I’ve heard that in the place where you grow up you can make very strong connections and relationships with that place and it becomes a part of your identity. I believe that it’s true because I love my home and I’ve lived there my whole life and have grown to love all my neighbors in my community and I feel like my home has had a huge impact on my future and the way I grew up.
As a factory worker, you would want to live somewhere close to the factory that you worked in, it would be more efficient that way. This
The industrial revolution brought abundant material benefits at the expense of humans. Mechanisation had improved accuracy and speed in production of items. It was free from human error and business owners did not have to pay for employees. They did not have to worry about sick employees that would reduce the output of items. The more items produced lead to higher profits and potential to employ more workers.
Ancient civilizations all developed near a source of water, where producing crops was not a concern. Since people did not need to move place to place for food, they could settle down and form civilizations. Geography was a major reason the ancient civilizations and the people living there
Values of the Florida Everglades The Florida Everglades is a national park where animals live in harmony because of this thing called biodiversity. Biodiversity is a word commonly used to "describe the relative number of different species in an ecosystem. " The everglades depend on its ecosystems, that’s how everything stays running and alive. Without the everglades, there wouldn't be as many species, the everglades houses these species and without it, many of them would be extinct or endangered. The everglades play a huge role in the survival of many different plant and animal species.
This attracted more people to move to cities. By 1900, thirty percent of the U.S population lived in citiess. However this urbanization came with many problems. For many of the people living in the cities, they had an extremely low quality of life. Another result that came with America’s industrialization and urbanization was capitalism.
Many decided that they wanted to stay near the port, and many ventured inland. Those who went inland wanted to be in community with other people and start a new life with new people. Small towns with a low population

Why do some people move away from their hometown and some never leave? The answer to that is they probably want to move out of the cold, move to another state for college, they want to live in a state that has four seasons, for different job purposes, or even to live closer to their family members. Moving away is a whole different reality, depending on if you 're moving away from your family, to college, or even to start a life on your own! When moving away it 's a whole new journey. From not having to do very much living with your parents, fending for yourself 24/7, buying food, and making sure you get up on time.
Those people probably want to branch out and expand farther from their roots. Some people on the other hand would like to just stay where they grew up with friends and family. Me, I was one of those people. I never imagined my life away from the home and the people I grew up with. Moving away from my hometown was one of my biggest challenges in life.
