Explain Why We Should Be Told Stories Of Good Morals

Our noble leader and founder, Plato, in the Republic, our most venerated founding document, states that fiction must only show acts of good. We should not teach the “Misrepresenting the nature of gods and heroes.” (Plato 445) That we must teach our young the story of the gods giving only good and not evil. Acts of conflict should not be allowed to be told to children. Acts of punishing his father unmercifully is normal in one’s life. We should not teach our children any act of evil so their minds don’t develop the bad habits of others. We understand this to mean that some of our stories are not appropriate for our children. We should filter them so children do not have those evils’ in their head. Children should be told stories of good morals
