Post an identification and analysis of your personal sources of motivation as an employee or student.

My personal source of motivation is the skill development motivation, and has been for over 5 years now. It also to some degree is personal goals motivation as these two go hand in hand. However, the skill development to personal goals motivation is somewhere in the neighborhood of 75/25 in favor of skill development (Akers, n.d). This is mainly as a student because I am currently disabled and can no longer do the work I once could do.

Also explain the reasons these sources influence you, situational factors that influence your sources of motivation, and the impact of motivation on your behavior within the organization.

As I eluded to in the previous paragraph, the reason for my motivations are directly pinioned to my disability. I have undergone total shoulder replacement surgery in my left arm and will undergo surgery on my right arm in late August. The reason is severe arthritis in both arms. This is why I have in just over 4 years I have gone from being just a high school graduate to a doctoral student with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree. With a Doctorate in Business Administration I should be able to find a line of work that does not require intense physical labor.

Each of these facets relate to motivational and leadership theory in the following ways. As for the motivation theory, my goals indicate that I am in a succeed or fail situation. If I quit? Then I have not reached my goals and I have little hope of giving myself the best chances this late in my life. I have to succeed; failure cannot be an option. While there will be setbacks, it is my drive to win that pushes me closer to the finish
