Obesity which is known as abnormal weight gain more than overweight. BMI (Body Mass Index) which calculates the weight compared to the height of the body classifies obesity as 30 or more but overweight as 25 or more. There are at least 500 million obese around the world in 2008 as obesity affects both developed and developing countries. During childhood obesity may occur as 42 million child worldwide were overweight in 2013 which makes them more likely to be obese during adulthood. Obesity is responsible for the death of more than 2.8 million people yearly. Fighting against obesity is one of the biggest challenges in this century. In order to combat obesity the public should know the causes, effects and some ways to prevent obesity.

Firstly, imbalanced amount of calories in the body which describes when someone eats food more than he exercises to burn the calories. Secondly, decreased physical activity which means the lack of exercise as the less a person exercises the more chance of being obese rises. Finally, surrounding environment which clarifies that some people are forced to have bad eating habits and lazy life due to environmental factors like transports in urbans and unhealthy foods all around.
Effects
Knowing effects of any disease like obesity helps patients to control their condition. Obesity has many effects to the human body. Firstly, cardiovascular diseases which are related to the dysfunction of the heart. Obese kids are more likely to suffer from cardiovascular disease at a younger age more than non-obese children. Secondly, certain cancers could be developed with obesity. Moreover, diabetes as 44% of diabetics got diabetes due to obesity. Finally, death unfortunately could happen if a person could not handle all of these effects.
