When it comes to education and learning the question if the internet can either helps or discourages someone from people wanting to read long articles plays an immense role in today’s youth. Before we dive into details lets discuss some background information about the internet so that we can better understand it.
“The Internet is at once a world-wide broadcasting capability, a mechanism for information dissemination, and a medium for collaboration and interaction between individuals and their computers without regard for geographic location. I personally feel as though the internet is an incredibly large vessel that a person can gain a wide variety of information from. It takes all the hard work out of the equation, like I stated before with just the click of a button you’re able to find any and all you would need to know on a certain topic. For example, if you’re taking a cooking class and are looking for a recipe for pie. A person can head on over to the Google search engine and simply type into the search bar “how to make a pie”. From there, a few webpage’s will populate with different types of pies including a list of ingredients needed plus directions on how to properly bake the pie. With the internet doing all the work for the majority of people utilizing it, this brings up the question about a person’s ability to memorize information due to the invention of the internet. If you’re able to skim through the text and not actually read it verbatim is your brain retaining any information. I read an article about how the internet can help with memory it stated
