When Japan refused to surrender unconditionally the U.S. decided to nuke them, this was very controversial but looking back the U.S. made the right decision. Although it was seen as immoral, the U.S. made the right decision because if the U.S. didn’t nuke Japan, Russia would of taken over Asia and quite possibly Europe, it was the quickest way to end the war and the one that cost the least American lives, and nukes are weapons of war and Japan was the enemy. If the U.S. didn’t drop the atomic bomb Russia would of taken over Asia and quite possibly Europe. Was America right to use atomic weapons against Japan? The dropping of the atomic bomb in Japan at Hiroshima and Nagasaki, was the end of WWII. However, there has been much conflict considering the use of the bomb. In this essay, I will discuss reasons from both sides of the argument and justify my opinion.

Imagine a world where World War 2 took two more years, four million more people died, and the U.S. didn’t drop the atomic bomb. All of this would have happened if we didn’t drop the atomic bomb when we did. The U.S. did the right thing by dropping the bomb because if we didn’t drop it more lives would have been lost, we would have ran out of supplies, and finally Japan attacked the U.S. first with zero warning. Many people think the atomic bomb shouldn’t have been dropped but our group thinks it was necessary to do to save our country. - Ben First, the U.S. should have dropped the bomb on Japan because without the bomb, more lives could have been lost from both sides.

By 1945, those involved in the Second World War were exhausted. There had been millions of casualties, millions were still suffering and countries were in turmoil. After six years of war, those involved were ready for it to be over. By the end of 1944 the Axis had collapsed. Once Germany unconditionally surrendered on May 8, 1945, the Allies were hoping Japan would surrender too.

Even though the bombing was a cataclysm, people learned how to be helpful and care for others to make the situation better.
The atomic bomb was a terrible thing. It killed 150,000 in Hiroshima and 75,000 in Nagasaki, plus many survivors became horribly disfigured from the intensive heat, and death from radiation is uncertain it may not kill the victims for days, weeks, months, or even years. (Although the bomb did save the USA from sending foot soldier to Japan, the Japanese were ready to surrender on terms that they can keep their empire and we had no need to use it). Japan was the first to feel the destructive power of the atomic bomb. Killing a quarter of a million people and costing two billion dollars of war replenish.
We learn from our past to grow our communities in the spirit of a hopeful time by learning to be selfless in a hard situation and having courage. In Hiroshima, Michihiko says, “The strength, even the will, to go on deserted me, so I told my wife, who was almost as badly hurt as I, to go on alone. ”(paragraph 15) This quote shows that Michihiko was selfless in a terrifying situation which makes us learn that his selflessness saved a important life that would later go on to be very sucessful and survive.we can learn from this moment by always being perpared for the future and if any bad things happen to the USA, then we know how to act and how to treat the situation.
President Harry Truman gave an executive order in 1945 to drop to atomic bombs in popular downtown cities in Japan. With the guidance of many scientists and political leaders President Truman made the extremely tough decision to drop the bombs. After listening to arguments from both sides President Truman came to the conclusion that dropping bombs would be the best thing to do for this war. It would also show that the United States had an extreme military power. Many American politicians were for the idea of dropping the bomb, because they believed that it was the only way to end the war and get Japan to surrender.
The dropping of the atomic bombs on World War II on the city of Hiroshima and Nagasaki was a very important part of World War II. The atomic bomb ended the war between America and Japan. This was just one of the important events during the battle in World War II. The Battle at Pearl Harbor, where the Japanese attacked U.S. soil was also why the americans bombed Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Some believe that the United States was correct in dropping these bombs on Japan because of the attack on Pearl Harbor while others believe that it was very wrong to dropped the bomb.
