Zach Harriman thought he knew everything about his dad. Sports fan, former football star, and advisor to the president of the United States. But that’s until the plane he was on mysteriously crashed along with everything else Zach knew about his dad, Tom Harriman. This horrendous accident lead Zach to not only figure himself out, but to discover new things about his dad. Usually, someone who had lost someone wouldn’t feel like doing anything, but Zach is different and independent enough to handle himself in the outside world. Zach went to the plane crash by himself to look for clues about his father’s death. “It took maybe a hundred yards more, and then he was there. In just about every news story Zach had read about the crash of Tom Harriman’s place, they had talked about the scored earth the first responders had found” (Lupica 105). Because of how supportive everyone was to him when his father had died. Zach had sworn to be the same, especially for Kate and his mom because of how reliable he is. Kate always looked after Zach and was always there with him in troubling situations.
