Gender Inequality
All over the world, women fight for the chance to be seen as an equal to men. Four out of five people who are victims of human trafficking are female, only about 22% of national parliamentarians are women, and one in three girls experience sexual violence while in public. As inequitable as this may seem, these statistics do not come as as shock to many individuals who have either experienced or caused them. Gender inequality, the unfair, opinionated discrimination against males or females, is unjust and offensive towards those receiving the treatment. Gender inequality focuses primarily on the fact of women not being considered equal to men and that they do not have the same amount of rights. Angry, annoyed, and tired of being treated as weak, women have pushed the issue of sexism for years, striving to put a stop to it forever. Over half of employed women believe that the prominent struggle during work is the stereotypes said or assumed by others about females, and many other women are wary of going out in public for fear of experiencing

Women have protests to raise awareness for their cause and start campaigns and websites that accept donations to stop acts of gender inequality. More women are involved in politics, and in 2000, 13.1% of women made up Parliament, and now about 22% of women are. Also, Hillary Clinton strives to be the first female president of the United States. The Title IX, a federal law that prevents sex discrimination in education, has allowed more girls athletic scholarships and has funded more female sports teams.
