Guy Montag is a fireman, he enjoy’s his job very much until he meets a girl, Clarisse. Clarisse opens up a new door for Montag and starts to think of things that he has never thought about including the thought of happiness. Throughout the book you will follow Montag as he adventures through the world of books and knowledge even if it is forbidden in his society. In the book, Fahrenheit 451, by Ray Bradbury explains the lack of physical communication and relations between characters due to the technology and destroys their society they seem to know.
Clarisse McClellan is a seventeen year old who shows Montag the potential of the world with her innocence and curiosity. In “Fahrenheit 451” by Ray Bradbury states “Are you happy?,” (10) . At the beginning of the book Montag was a fireman that followed the laws, he soon changes into a man who challenges them. When he met Clarisse he was happy well at least that was what he thought. Until one night where he wakes up from being numbed and realizes he isn’t happy at all and hasn’t been. He realizes this because most people around him including his wife, Mildred, pay absolutely no attention to him whatsoever because they are stuck in technology.
