Science fiction shows people ideal of society in a unique futuristic lifestyle. This lifestyle changes normal people’s way of thinking and make people question why is it the way it is. These ideas could be about how there would be problems with technology or other problems. In Fahrenheit 451, Ray Bradbury’s book contains all the clues and answers that can be found for these questions. Bradbury uses the futuristic society where people cannot possess books in order to reflect some of the methods of the people’s lifestyle of the future. He shows how reading affects people’s lives in this society. It is said that books are useless and unnecessary. For example of people thought on books, “the books say nothing! Nothing you can teach or believe. They are non-existent people, figment of imagination, if they are fiction. And if they are non-fiction, it’s worse one professor calling another an idiot, one philosopher screaming down another’s gullet. All of them running about, putting out the stars and extinguishing the sun. You come away lost.” (62). What they mean is that everything that is the book are all that people create it out of nothing. They are all fake. Its make people fight each other, or debate each other all the times. Make things more complicated than it should have been. After he came out, he found a camp fire with really small fire with it. This is the first time he feel different about fire. It’s not just the burning feeling to him anymore, the only thing he feel is warm. He never see or use fire as nothing but for destruction. He said “That small motion, the white and red color, a strange fire because it meant a different thing to him. It was not burning. It was warming.” (145). Everyone in the current society all believe what most of people believe and mostly use fire for destruction, even though fire has so many way to use it for other good reasons too.
