“It was a pleasure to burn” (Bradbury 1). Fahrenheit 451 is about a firemen Guy Montag, who burns books, but starts questioning who books are being burned. Guy has a hard time getting the answers he wants, and he is soon to find out the world is not how he thought it was. Most people use technology today, just like the people in Ray Bradbury`s book Fahrenheit 451. In the book Fahrenheit 451 there are a lot of similarities in the book compared to today, such as technology, government overpower, and censorship.
The technology that is portrayed in Fahrenheit 451 is also portrayed in the real world. “She had both ears pluged with electronic bees that were humming the hours away” (Bradbury 16). The electronic bees that are humming are earbuds. Ear are very popular in todays and the book Fahrenheit 451. “Earbuds are headphones, typically made out of a hard plastic material, that fits inside the ear, just outside of the ear canal” (Cogan 2016). This relates to Mildred, because she has earbuds in her ear but earbuds are called “seashells” in the book. That is all that Mildred listens to. Government overpower is also a key factor in Fahrenheit 451.
