Are We Living In Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451? After reading the article Are We Living In Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451 I have come to the conclusion that I do agree we are living in Fahrenheit 451 for many reasons. Over the past couple of years many people have forgotten what real communication is all about, it is not about tweeting and texting to each other it is all about real face to face interaction. According to the article it states that “similar kinds of arguments about the dangers of the web and social media” (Ingram 2) have also been made.
In the dystopian society of FAHRENHEIT 451, first responders are both similar and different from modern American society. Let's take the example of medical care when it’s an emergency. In the world of 451, they call an ambulance a ‘unit’ and ‘handyman’ is the name they call for paramedic. In the world of 451, handymen are careless and they don’t have any concern on patient . They smoke in front of patients and they use inappropriate language.
A large majority of books use many types of literary elements and devices. An example of a literary device is imagery; the five senses. This is one of the most descriptive types of writing as it conveys what the character is feeling or smelling. It’s a more human way of writing in some ways. In the book Fahrenheit 451, the character Montag has a large amount of internal struggle throughout the book.

“If they give you ruled paper, write the other way.” -Juan Ramon Jimenez. Things are lead the wrong way when technology becomes more developed. There are a lot of things that are changed, and the change is not for the better. People are just to in sync to notice that things aren’t right at all.
You must understand the importance of what books do, so you appreciate and experience what they offer. In Fahrenheit 451, people in the society can’t comprehend what books actual purpose is. When Montag first realizes the significance of books, he has to rethink everything: “There must be something in books, something we can’t imagine, to make a women stay in a burning house; there must be something there. You don’t stay for nothing”(Bradbury 48). Almost all the people in the society don’t even think twice about someone dying like that.
The differences and similarities between the book’s society and our modern day society really bulged out at me while I was reading the book ‘Fahrenheit 451’. In Fahrenheit 451, books are banned. And instead of having firemen that put out fire, the firemen start the fire to burn down books and houses. There are many differences and similarities between our modern day society and the the society in the book ‘Fahrenheit 451’. Such as our Government, Technology, and Behavior.
Humanity A representation of many differences and one similarity is shown within Fahrenheit 451 and present- day societies. School illustrates something important that both societies should have in their lives; Fahrenheit 451 demonstrates school habits differently than present-day teachers. For example, a dystopian and present-day society have different learning habits which helps create a strong difference. In Fahrenheit 451, school schedules include “an hour of TV class, an hour of basketball or baseball or running . . .
What would you do if there was another world that burned homes instead of put them out? Society today is used to keeping the community a safe place instead of putting the society in danger. This society strives for balance and fair living. Fahrenheit 451 contrasts to modern society in areas of Government, Firemen, and Books.
This quote shows how Montag felt about Clarisse and how he cherished her even after her death. This is the first real person Guy Montag has ever been able to talk to on an intellectual level. Before Clarisse, he has only talked to Mildred and his coworkers. When he spoke to these characters it was not in deep context, he only spoke to them about what was happening in the now, not deep things like his life. Their conversations were only superficial.
In Fahrenheit 451, there are many obvious differences in the dystopian society that the novel takes place in, and our present day society. However, there are also many overlooked similarities in the societies. Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451 is both different, and alike our modern day societies. Initially, the America that the novel takes place in is much more of an authoritarian society then present day America.
What if humanity never recalled the past because books and literature were constantly destroyed? The main process of learning results from trial and error, in which one tries, fails, then tries again in order to find a successful procedure. Humans have made a myriad of mistakes in the past, and many authors and illustrators have taken these mistakes into account, creating art, novels, and other works of literature to ensure that the same mistakes will not be repeated. Fahrenheit 451 –Analytical Essay There are a few common aspects of the setting of Fahrenheit 451, a book by Ray Bradbury and today’s society. Just like any books being burned in Fahrenheit 451, our government holds certain information as classified and does not let it out to the general public. Both societies use censorship as a way of limiting knowledge. Oversight and surveillance continue to be allowed at an alarming rate and was a part of Bradbury’s concerns. Fitting in and being "normal” or mainstream are not as accepted in either setting.

If there were to be a world without books, the most important book I would keep would be Fahrenheit 451. This book would be important to keep because it would show us what would happen if books were outlawed.
Believe it or not, the land of the free is truly not free. According to a report by Bloomberg, since 1978, college tuition has gone up by a dramatic 1,120%. Because our college tuition is rapidly rising at an uncontrollable rate, it should be lowered considering it is proliferating at a pace that students can no longer pay for it. Tuition gives students unneeded pressure and problems, and there are ways to give colleges more money--aside from the students. Foremost, college tuition is rising at an alarming rate that is becoming nearly impossible to pay for it.
