Fahrenheit 451 Light Analysis

In Anthem & Fahrenheit 451 there is a symbol of light. This symbol could mean from a wide range of different things, but it means the same exact thing in both books. In the books, light means knowledge and it means it in the same exact way. Whenever each character is alone and away from a lot of people there is a appearance of light. In Anthem it was when Equality created something alone and in Fahrenheit 451 it was when the electricity went out and he was alone. Those are not the only examples and there will be more to come. In Anthem light is a big part of the story. When Equality goes down into the subway he spends all of his time experimenting and trying new things. When he was experimenting with the objects left over from the “Unmentionable times,” he created light. Equality used what he could and experimented until he figured out that putting the wire to the box and closing the current would create light. This part of the story was the first occurrence of the symbol of light. This symbol of light was knowledge. When he was alone he made this discovery with knowledge. Knowledge can be a lot of things in life and these two books happen to have the exact same meanings of it and almost the exact type of a situation that they are in is the same in each book. In Anthem knowledge happens when Equality is alone and creates something and in Fahrenheit 451 Montag is alone with his mother and rediscovering himself when the power went out. They are also the same when they are away from society and away from all the vibes that come off of the people in those society, so knowledge can come out. In the end, I never thought that these two books would have the same symbol, but I learned that they do and I learned more about how knowledge come to
