Chris Mccandless failed with his trip to Alaska. Failure to completely get prepared, leaving behind all and everything. Knowing the trip was risking he did it anyways and gave up his life because of his lack of knowledge. Could you leave your family behind? Your education? Lose your life over a dream?
One reason most people go against Chris Mccandless is his absolute failure to learn about the land of Alaska. He studied about the berries and plants out in the wild, but he had been poisoning himself with the plants he had found. “He had a book about plants with him, and he used it to pick berries, collecting them in a gallon jug with the top cut off.” (30) told to use by Krakauer. He just threw away and burned his parents money, that they earned and provided it to him.
