Failure Of Stadiums

198 Words1 Pages
The Wembley stadium is a perfect example of a project failure. The Wembley stadium is the home of english football and it was rebuilt in the early 2000s replacing the original structure from 1923. The project took 5 years longer and it cost more than double than first estimated. The designed used for the stadium was a success since it minimized internal support that obstructed views and improved quality of seating. The designed used to build the stadium was never done before, therefore they did not have an accurate project plan.

Failure started by accepting the lowest cost bid, missing the actual cost of the project. The bid was so low that before the contract was signed, the cost of the project rose by 36%, and the project had not even started.
