Do you know that one of the main worry that is patient-related problems in the hospital are case of falls? Many take it lightly that fall is just a fall. For example, a fall with a bruise. But the underlying problems of that bruise may cause some seriousness or doesn't shows the signs and symptoms on the spot but may happen/ react a few days later. It can happen to anyone of different age group. But older patient's are vulnerable as their bones gets porous, brittle and not strong. Thus further complications may occur. In these essay, i am going to talk about fall cases in elderly pertaining to the case scenario (Appendix 1).

Thus might cause her to have unstable gait. Secondly, she is on the bed with the cot side pulled up. The fall might be possible from the climbing from the cot side height which then causing her to lose balance to land properly on the flat ground.Also sustaining a colles fracture as she was using her hand to break the fall. Thirdly, due to her urgency to pass urine, with no nurses to assist for toileting, she has to do herself by going out of the bed herself.
