1918-1939 was known as the Age of Anxiety. During this time, many things in the world showed anxiety. Things like paintings, music, and literature showed examples of restlessness during this period. Some treaties were signed like the Treaty of Versailles and the Treaty of 5 powers. Multiple disasters happened during this period of economics like the Great Depression and the uttermost nationalism and militarism in countries. Problems like an economic downfall, an increase in militarism, and the rise of fascist ideologies were all problems that led the world from WWI to WWII. The Doctrine of Fascism by Benito Mussolini claims that fascism is the best form of government compared to Socialism, Liberalism, and Democracy (Document 6). This document shows that the rise of fascist ideologies was a problem that led the world from WWI to WWII because the doctrine is claiming that fascism is the best form of government. This could be seen as propaganda and promoting the idea that fascism is the best form of government. This document demonstrates that militarism was a problem that led the world from WWI to WWII because the purpose of the treaty was to prevent countries like Japan and Italy from building up their armies and taking over other countries. This a problem because those countries with low metric tons of aircraft carriers would think that the countries with more metric tons of aircraft carriers were building up their armies to take control of the countries. While the countries with lower metric tons of aircraft carriers would feel vulnerable and cause anxiety and tension between countries. This document demonstrates that militarism was a problem that led the world from WWI to WWII because before this picture was drawn, Japan had lost some of its territories after WWI. At that time, Japan had very limited resources because of its small territory and being far from land. Due to that, Japan built up its military to invade other territories around
