After the Treaty of Versailles was signed in 1919, World War One was over. The countries were trying to fix the problems that had led to WW1. The countries created a League of Nations to try to prevent other countries from fighting each other. Although different countries tried to reduce their militaries, mankind failed to address problems from World War One because they blamed the war on Germany, plus the league of nations was too weak to prevent international aggression.
Most of the problems that happened in world war one were left unfixed but many countries did try to reduce their militaries by requiring every ship to carry less weapons and materials. According to the Treaty Between the United States of America, the British Empire, France, Italy, and Japan, they required a law for each country and how much tonnage they were able to retain in their aircraft carriers (Document 4). This was supposedly going to help stop the war because if they reduced the amount of materials it was less likely that fighting would break out between other countries. Japan believed that they were the rightful controllers, this created many conflicts with the other countries. Emperor Hirohito was the leader of Japan during World War One and Two which shows that he had a lasting effect on the wars. Hirohito disliked the Treaty of Versailles and did not agree with the racial approach in America. Japan also needed raw material because there was an increase in population.
