Group one had presented an analysis of father-son relationships in the memoir of Night. In their presentation, they talked about many aspects of this topic which I thought was very interesting. Firstly, this group had pointed out that in dire situations families come closer, and tend to depend on each other even more. I definitely agree with this statement. For example, in the memoir, Elie says: “I had no right to let myself die. What would he do without me? I was his sole support.”(Wiesel 82). This quote supports this idea because it proves that Elie and his father Shlomo have become very dependent on each other, after their separation from the rest of the family.
